    CHINESE ECOTOURISM——THE FOUNDATION OF SUSTAINABLE TOURISM

    Ecotourism is a new field in which the ecotourism develops and extends in depth. It is also the new tourist system produced by the diversified and advanced tourist activities. The author regards the ecotourism possesses six characteristics: (1) The traveling activities take nature as their stage; (2) Contents of tourism germinates the elegant quality of science and culture; (3)The traveling activities use ecological ideology as thinking base; (4) The carrying body of travelling activities possess the natures of diversity; (5)The tourists highly participate the activities; (6)Ecotourism is the high quality travelling to enhance the human environmental consciousness. Thus, ecotourism is the tourism of sustainable development which is to last for generations. It must not only meet the demand of tourism for contemporary people, but also retain the enough travelling space, good environment and sceneries for next generation in order to be used forever. So, drawing lines for ecotourism is the base for sustainable tourism. The author puts forward two types of new concepts of Antogenic Geo ecotoursystem and Allogenic Geo ecotoursystem for the productive mechanism of ecotourist sceneries. The paper discusses the potentiality of ecotourist resources. It expounds the inherent relationship between China Agenda of 21th Century and ecotourism, and suggests to put into effect the general plan of Chinese ecotourism development.

    Economic development leads to the changes of the land use structure. Through the study, the characteristics of the changes of the land use structure in the south of Jiangsu show that: First of all, the land use for city increases rapidly since 1980s. The land use for housing and infrastructure is the key reason for the change of the land use structure in city. And the land use for industry has become the second factor for the change of city’s land use structure. Secondly, the flourishing of the amount of towns and the increase of the town’s land use bring about tremendous changes of landscape in the south of Jiangsu. At present the main factor which leads to the change of the land use in towns is still the increase of the industrial land use. Finally, the increase of the traffic land and the decrease of the cultivated land are the main trends of the change of the land use in the south of Jiangsu since 1980s.

    This paper applies Canonical Correlation Analysis to identify the driving forces of land use structure in 1992 in Yulin Prefecture. Through the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) and specific analysis to the results, the contribution of each driving force of land use structure can be identified quantitatively. At the same time, tests were carried out through the canonical correlation coefficient and redundancy analysis.

    This paper deals with the economic preponderance of overseas chinese hometowns in relation to the distribution of overseas Chinese from Guangdong province and its geostrategical setting. It studies the fundamental elements affecting the decision of geostrategy from the viewpoint of geopolitics, geoeconomics and geoculture, combining with the actual conditions of South Eastern Asia. Finally it points out how to reestablish a 21st century oriented preponderence of overseas Chinese hometowns.

    Local government and people pursue local development in an all round way——material civilization and culture. At the turn of China market economy system construction, there is overall competition in production, service and their quality. The local time of development, based on the competition, is coming. From the basic concept of Local Identity System (LIS), this paper discusses the relationship between local development and LIS, and explains their characteristics of stages, interrelation, effectiveness. Then the idea on local identity system is formed, that includes rules, visual elements and projects of local identity system. Local identity system is a key to make locality rich and prosperous. Therefore, local identity system is the course of local development planning and management.

    This thesis mainly expounds the design and application research of dynamic decoration of map surface in PC Cartographic System which includes three main parts: dynamic decoration of map contents, of map name and legend and of in and out borders. It is to study techniques and methods of dynamic decoration of map surface by means of adopting different mathematical ways and models according to the research object of computer graphy, its decoration contents and extant problems of many PC Cartographic Systems. Dynamic decoration of map contents is the most important part which includes dynamic display of multiple elements of maps in accordance with related scale, transformation of Chinese annotations, matching decoration of annotations and dynamic distribution of annotations in accordance with line elements. Therefore, the dynamic decoration of map surface in PC Cartographic System innovates the traditional technology, helps people extricate themselves from the complicated work and greatly promotes work efficiency on supplementary design of PC Cartographic System.
