Abstract: Worldwide concern about global change is resulting from the land use/cover change (LUCC) LUCC is also an important aspect of its effects on the coastal environment evolvement, which has led governments and researchers to consider international actions to address the issue, such as IGBP and its LOICZ project This paper reviews the recent achievements of studies on LUCC’s impact on coastal environment from four aspects: (1)LUCC’s impact on greenhouse gases release; (2)LUCC’s impact on nutrient and sediment fluxes flowing into ocean; (3)LUCC’s impact on coastal biodiversity; (4) Ecological effects of the special vegetation cover on the ecological environment On the base of summarizing and analysis, the paper brings forward the research trend and the future developing directions The research trend of coastal environment evolvement consequence of LUCC is going to be extremes, namely, to more macroscopical (study of global environmental change) and to more microcosmic (study of coastal environmental biogeochemistry process) The developing directions of the research in the future are introduced: Evaluation and the regulation of land use based on sustainable development; Study of biogeochemistry process and its simulation model of coastal environment.
Key words: coastal zone, environmental consequence, land use/cover change
